25 Years On: The 9/11 Memory

It’s been a quarter‑century after the September 11 terror attack that claimed almost three thousand lives. The country still feels the weight of that day.

Goldberg, who leads The Atlantic, said we should never stop talking about those who died. He joined a panel on Washington Week With The Atlantic to look back at the tragedy and its aftermath.

Lemire started as an intern at the New York Daily News on 9/11, and his editor sent him to nearby hospitals after the towers fell. He recalled the most striking picture: lines of vacant hospital beds, showing that many who seemed ready to be saved never arrived.
