A large group of Indian Sikhs recently traveled to Pakistan for a significant religious event. This journey happened after a long time of no such visits due to political issues between the two countries. The border, which was shut because of a conflict, was opened just for this occasion. The Sikh pilgrims went to a special place in Pakistan called Nankana Sahib. This is where the founder of their religion, Guru Nanak, was born. A government official mentioned that allowing these visits shows respect for different religions and a desire to keep cultural connections alive, even when there are political disagreements. Sikhs are a small group in Pakistan, which is mostly Muslim. The relationship between Pakistan and India has been quite tense for a long time. Things got worse in April when India blamed Pakistan for a militant attack that killed many people. Pakistan denied this and asked for an international investigation. After that, the two countries stopped talking to each other, closed their borders, and even fought a bit. Things calmed down after the U. S. president helped to stop the fighting. But, things are still not back to normal between them. The European Union also made some news recently. They praised Ukraine for making progress in reforms to join the bloc but warned Serbia and Georgia about going backward in democracy.
