A big change is happening at the UH Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood. The South Pavilion is getting a new name. It will now be called the Carol and John Fountain Pavilion. This is all because of a generous donation from Carol and John Fountain.
This donation is part of a larger fundraising campaign. The campaign is called “Because of You: The Campaign for University Hospitals. ” It has already raised over $1. 7 billion. The goal is to reach $2 billion. The exact amount given by the Fountain family is not being shared.
The South Pavilion is a big deal. It was part of a $236 million expansion project. This project added over 216, 000 square feet of space. It includes many new facilities. These include the UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute, the UH Cutler Center for Men, and the Potash Women & Newborn Center. It also expanded emergency, imaging, and breast health services.
Because of their donation, Carol and John Fountain will become honorary trustees. They will join the UH board of directors. Carol Fountain has been a trustee of the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation in the past.
Carol and John Fountain believe in the importance of community-based care. They think it is vital for the community. They hope their gift will inspire others to give too. They want their donation to make a lasting difference.
John Fountain sees this as an investment in the community’s future. He believes it will support exceptional care now and in the future.
