Lake Charles just got a new hangout spot! Crying Eagle Brewery has opened a restaurant right by the lake. It's a big deal for the area, showing how the lakefront is getting a makeover. The grand opening happened on a Friday morning. There were pastries, good weather, and a lot of community spirit. Eric Avery, the president of Crying Eagle, felt proud and grateful. He said the project turned tough challenges into something amazing. The restaurant is part of a bigger plan to improve the lakefront. Other projects include fixing up old buildings and creating new spaces. Avery and his team wanted to make a place for people to connect and make memories. But it wasn't easy. There were hurdles like natural disasters and high construction costs. Avery said they kept believing and trusting in the process. The mayor of Lake Charles, Marshall Simien, Jr. , said the restaurant is a great addition to the city's lakefront area. The restaurant has two levels, both indoors and outdoors. There's a play area for kids and a design that's family-friendly but also classy. Guests can enjoy locally brewed beers, fresh food, and beautiful lake views. The upstairs space can be used for private events. Right now, the restaurant can fit about 500 people. But they plan to increase the capacity slowly over time. It's a big step for Lake Charles and a new spot for everyone to enjoy.
