Shedeur Sanders, the new quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, had a rough Sunday. Not only did his team lose to the Ravens, but his home was also broken into during the game. The Medina County Sheriff’s Office shared this news on Tuesday. They said three people broke in while Sanders was playing. These suspects wore masks and gloves, making it hard to identify them. They got away with around $200, 000 worth of stuff.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Other athletes, like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Bobby Portis, have also had their homes broken into. Because of these incidents, the NBA and NFL have warned their players about organized burglary rings. These groups seem to be targeting wealthy people, including athletes.
In February, seven men were arrested and charged for their involvement in these burglaries. It's a reminder that fame and success can come with risks. Athletes often become targets, not just for their skills on the field, but also for their possessions off the field.
