In a surprising turn of events, a 27-year-old woman from Hayward found herself at the center of a fraud investigation. The trouble started when a Kentfield resident noticed strange charges on her credit card. Someone had used it to buy Apple products in San Francisco. This was not just a simple case of theft. It was a well-planned operation.
Detectives got their first clue from video footage. They saw the suspect picking up the merchandise. But here's where things got interesting. A detective from another agency recognized the buyer from a different fraud case. This was not her first rodeo. The suspect was identified as Aisuluu Mursalieva.
When investigators searched Mursalieva's home, they found a treasure trove of unopened Apple products. But that's not all. They also found 50 fake ID cards, a laminator, and a color scanner. It was clear that this was not a one-time thing. The detectives are now trying to figure out where all these electronics came from. They are also looking into whether there are more victims out there.
Mursalieva was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail. The bail was set at $25, 000. She has since been released, but the investigation is far from over. The question on everyone's mind is, how many more people were affected by this fraud scheme?
