Researchers built a special model to measure potential AI savings across radiology, workflow improvements, and staff efficiency in both countries. They ran thousands of computer simulations to project yearly savings. The math accounts for how likely AI will spread, how effective it actually works, and what risks come with rollout. Prior data came from careful reviews of existing research in each field.

The model suggests average savings around 15 percent of current spending. For example, Australian radiology could save roughly $12 million annually. UK workforce optimization might reach nearly $88 million per year. Even with these figures, the actual gains stay modest. The main reason is clear: putting AI into practice faces tough hurdles that technology alone cannot solve.
