Amazon is revamping its telehealth platform to offer low-cost treatment plans and medication delivery for common beauty and lifestyle issues. Now, customers can tackle men's hair loss for as little as $16 a month, anti-aging skin care for $10 a month, and erectile dysfunction for $19 a month. There are also plans for motion sickness and eyelash growth. This move positions Amazon as a rival to Hims & Hers, a company known for its direct-to-consumer telehealth services.
Prime members can see the costs upfront before starting any treatment. A messaging visit is $29, while a video visit costs $49. Amazon promises no hidden fees beyond the Prime membership. Once prescribed, medications can be delivered quickly, sometimes within hours.
Dr. Vin Gupta, the chief medical officer for Amazon Pharmacy, says this simplified care experience aims to reduce the hassles of traditional healthcare. It eliminates long pharmacy lines and unexpected bills.
This expansion is part of Amazon's broader push into healthcare. Recently, Amazon Pharmacy announced the extension of its same-day delivery service to more cities. In 2022, Amazon acquired One Medical to launch Amazon One Medical the following year. Before that, Amazon bought online pharmacy PillPack in 2018 and launched Amazon Pharmacy in 2020. Last year, Amazon introduced RxPass, offering Prime members generic medications for a flat $5 monthly fee.
