AMC, the big movie theater company, just shared its numbers for the third quarter. They made $1. 3 billion, which is a bit less than last year but still more than experts thought. They lost 21 cents per share, missing the mark by a tiny bit.
The boss, Adam Aron, said the first part of the year was slow, then super busy, and then slowed down again. But he's hopeful for a great end to the year. He's proud that people are spending more per visit. They're buying more snacks and drinks, with each person spending about $7. 74 on food and drinks.
But fewer people went to the movies. In the U. S. , 58. 38 million people went, which is almost 10% less than last year. Around the world, it was even worse, with 11. 4% fewer people. Still, those who did go spent more.
AMC has been working on fixing its money problems, and Aron thinks the movie industry will bounce back big time. He's excited about the movies coming out soon, like the new Avatar. He even teamed up with Taylor Swift for a special event that made over $50 million in just three days!
Aron believes the last part of the year will be the best in six years. He's also looking ahead to 2026, saying it'll be even bigger than 2025. After the news, AMC's stock went up a bit.
