People are always on their phones, and banking is no exception. Over half of users check their banking apps daily, with a quarter doing so multiple times a day. Mobile banking is huge, but many banks are not keeping up with what users want.
Users expect their banking apps to be personalized, but 51% feel they're not getting that. And they're ready to leave if the app is frustrating. Two-thirds say they wouldn't pick a bank with a bad mobile experience, and more than half would switch if their current bank's app isn't good enough.
But it's not all bad news. Satisfaction with mobile banking has increased, with 84% of users happy with their primary financial app. So, what makes a good mobile banking experience? Top features include fraud alerts, card control options, and mobile check deposits. Users want protection and control.
Personalization is important, and expectations have risen over the past year. Users are willing to share more data if it means a better experience. They want banks to know them and show it. But trust is still key. Most users trust their primary financial provider with their data, but they expect it to be secure.
Banks need to step up to meet these expectations. It's not just about having an app; it's about making it easy to use, personalized, and secure. The future of banking is mobile, and banks that don't adapt risk losing customers.
