Boosting Breathing in Menopausal Women with Online Thai Dance

Home-based online program, ThailandWed Aug 26 2026

Menopausal women often struggle with their breathing as hormones shift. A new online class tried to help by adding Thai dance moves to regular aerobic exercise. The idea was to see if dancing at home could make lungs work better and ease the breath.

Twenty‑two women between forty‑five and fifty‑nine took part. They were split into two small groups. Ten women kept doing their usual daily activities. The other twelve joined online Thai dance workouts three times each week for ten weeks. The sessions were led by an instructor but done from home.

After the program, the dancing group breathed more slowly than before the study. Their lungs showed stronger capacity, their breathing muscles grew stronger, and they could use more oxygen while moving. They also produced more carbon dioxide when they worked hard. The control group did not see these changes.

The findings suggest that a simple, home‑based Thai dance routine can improve breathing for menopausal women. It offers a fun way to boost lung health without needing a gym. The program could be a useful addition to regular wellness plans.
