Bo Nix, the Broncos’ rookie quarterback, didn’t have the best start against the New Orleans Saints. He threw passes that landed far from his receivers, but the team didn’t panic. Instead, they focused on their strengths. The Broncos’ offensive line and running backs took charge, racking up 152 yards on the ground. The defense also shone, holding the Saints to just 195 total yards without their star cornerback, Pat Surtain II. Coach Sean Payton made smart decisions, playing to his team’s strengths and grinding out a lead. The unsung heroes of the game included left guard Ben Powers and right guard Quinn Meinerz, who dominated the line of scrimmage. Linebacker Cody Barton also had a standout performance. Despite Nix’s shaky start, he managed to bounce back and throw for 164 yards. The Broncos look like they could be a playoff team if they can fix some of their mechanical issues.
