Bad weather played spoilsport at Walt Disney World recently. The planned afternoon showing of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade was called off. This happened just 40 minutes after the scheduled start time. No word yet on if it will happen later.
This parade is usually a nighttime event. But, it’s making a rare daytime appearance. Why? It’s all because of ABC’s 40th Anniversary Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade. They are filming it. Normally, you’d only catch this parade during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Filming started on a Saturday. Everything went as planned. But the next day, Mother Nature had other ideas. Heavy rain and wind forced a cancellation. No updates yet on if or when they’ll try again.
Good news though! Both the parade and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will still happen. They’ll be part of the regular Magic Kingdom fun after the final Christmas Party.
Ever seen this parade in the daytime? Share your thoughts. It’s a different experience, right?
