Citi and American Airlines Join Forces for Travel Lovers

Citi has expanded its rewards program to include American Airlines. This is great news for people who use Citi cards and love to fly with American. Now, they can transfer their ThankYou Rewards points directly to American's AAdvantage program. The new Citi Strata Elite® Card is a big part of this change. It comes with some nice benefits, like free access to American's Admirals Club lounges every year. But it's not just about the new card. People who already have the Citi Strata Premier® Card or the Citi Prestige® Card can also transfer their points to American. This isn't the first time Citi and American have worked together. They've been partners for a while, but this is a bigger step. Citi is the only major credit card company that lets people transfer rewards directly to American. So, what does this mean for you? If you have one of the eligible Citi cards, you can now swap your ThankYou Rewards points for American's AAdvantage points one-to-one. It's a simple exchange, no tricky calculations. But there's a rule: you can't bring just anyone into the Admirals Club with you. If you bring three adults, you'll use up all your annual passes. However, you can bring up to three kids without using up your passes. This isn't the first time Citi has allowed transfers to American, but it's the most permanent.
