Danica Patrick, a former NASCAR driver, now works as an F1 analyst for Sky Sports. During the United States Grand Prix, she made some comments that left fans confused. She was talking about a crash between Carlos Sainz and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
She said, "Not the best spot to go, you know, like when you make a move in an unusual place, then you get unusual results. " This made little sense to many people. It seemed like she was trying to say that the crash happened because the move was made in a strange place.
Jenson Button, a former F1 world champion, was also on the broadcast. He explained what happened in the crash. After Patrick's comments, he looked straight at the camera and smirked. This made fans think he was trying to send a secret message.
Fans on social media had a lot to say about Patrick's comments. One person wrote, "Jenson, blink twice if you need help. " Another said, "Jenson looking at the camera is killing me. " Many felt that Patrick's comments added nothing to Button's explanation.
The crash happened at Turn 15, a tight corner on the track. Sainz had to retire from the race because of the crash. As a result, he got a five-place grid penalty for the next race and two penalty points on his F1 super licence.
