The crypto gaming world is buzzing with potential. Big gaming companies are eyeing crypto, but they need clear rules to jump in. Robbie Ferguson, the head of Immutable, thinks a new law called the CLARITY Act could be a game-changer. This law aims to make crypto rules clearer, especially for big gaming companies. Ferguson believes that once this law passes, huge gaming firms will start using crypto for rewards and loyalty programs. These programs could be more efficient than what they use now. He mentioned that some big gaming companies are already talking about launching their own tokens for players. But they need to know exactly how to do it legally. The CLARITY Act could be a big deal for crypto. It would make it easier for companies to create and use crypto tokens that follow the rules. Ferguson pointed out that the past few years have been tough for crypto because of unclear regulations. This law could change that. Immutable is already working with big names like Ubisoft. They teamed up to launch a new card game called Might and Magic: Fates. Immutable is also partnering with Polygon Labs to create a gaming hub. This shows that crypto gaming is growing, but it still needs clear rules to thrive. Meanwhile, Kieran Warwick, the founder of Illuvium, has a different take. He thinks a good crypto game should be fun and successful on its own, without relying on the crypto market. Games like Off The Grid prove this point. It's a popular shooter game that can be played without any crypto involvement. NFTs are optional, and the game makes money like traditional games. Warwick warns that games relying heavily on crypto, like play-to-earn models, will struggle in a tough market. The best approach might be a mix of both worlds: one side focused on crypto and the other not relying on it at all. Ronin Network, known for its work with Axie Infinity, is also looking to expand. Jeffrey Zirlin, the co-founder, wants to attract everyday users, not just tech-savvy ones. The Ronin Wallet has been downloaded 17 million times, showing real-world traction. Zirlin is optimistic about broader adoption, especially with more crypto-friendly policies in the US. Other companies like Animoca Brands are also looking beyond gaming. They plan to explore new areas like AI, stablecoins, and DePIN. Even Sony is considering launching its own stablecoin for game purchases in 2026.
