Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been dealt a season-ending blow. Team owner Jerry Jones revealed during a radio interview that Prescott will undergo surgery for a partially torn hamstring. The surgery is scheduled for Wednesday in New York. Prescott had been hoping to avoid an operation and return to the field this season. However, after meeting with a specialist on Monday, the team decided surgery was the best course of action. This announcement comes as no surprise to many, as the Cowboys had already hinted at the possibility of Prescott being placed on injured reserve. With this surgery, Prescott's earliest possible return would be for the Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers. The injury occurred during the third quarter of the Week 9 loss to Atlanta. In the meantime, Cooper Rush has been starting games, with Trey Lance as backup. The team has also signed former Cowboys quarterback Will Grier to the practice squad.
