Daniel Suarez is no stranger to change, and he's embracing it once again as he moves on from Trackhouse Racing. He's not shy about admitting that the past year hasn't been his best. Things change, and that's just life. He's happy to move on because he didn't feel at home anymore, even though he loves many people at Trackhouse. It's time for a new chapter.
Suarez is heading to Spire Motorsports in 2026, marking his fifth team in just ten seasons in the Cup Series. But he's not worried. He feels he's in the best position he's ever been in. At 33, he's got the experience and the fitness to keep going strong. He believes he can bring something unique to the table that not many drivers can.
Suarez's journey in NASCAR has been anything but smooth. He started with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2017, but it didn't last long. He moved to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2019, then to Gaunt Brothers Racing in 2020, where he didn't even qualify for the Daytona 500. In 2021, Justin Marks brought him to Trackhouse Racing, where he finally found some success. He won his first race at Sonoma Raceway in 2022 and his second at EchoPark Speedway in 2024. He also made it to the postseason twice in his four seasons with Trackhouse.
But Suarez's story doesn't start in NASCAR. He didn't come from a racing family and was on the verge of quitting when he ran out of money. But his talent caught the attention of those who mattered. He moved to the United States without speaking English, but he learned from cartoons and made it work. Joe Gibbs put him in the NASCAR national series in 2014, and two years later, he was a champion.
Suarez knows that his journey hasn't been easy, but it's made him stronger. He's learned that it's not just about going fast; it's about putting the right people together and building something that lasts. He believes he's one of the few drivers who can do that. And that's why he's excited about his next chapter with Spire Motorsports.
