DeMarcus Lawrence Announces 2026 as Final NFL Season

Lawrence tells fans that the 2026 season will be his last after helping the Seahawks capture the Super Bowl. He is a five‑time Pro Bowler who spent the first 11 years with Dallas before signing a three‑year, $32.5 million contract with Seattle.

In his first year with the Seahawks he recorded six sacks, 53 tackles, 20 quarterback hits and two fumble‑return touchdowns. Those numbers join his career totals of 67.5 sacks, 503 tackles and 146 quarterback hits. His best single‑season performance came in 2017 when he posted 14.5 sacks.

Off the field he has been praised for charity work. The Cowboys chose him as their Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee in 2023. He has donated money to homeless shelters in Dallas‑Fort Worth, supported the North Texas Food Bank and worked with local youth.

Now entering his final NFL year, Lawrence hopes to guide Seattle to back‑to‑back Super Bowl titles. He is slated to start when the Seahawks open against the Patriots on Sept. 9.
