Anthony Joshua Misses Out on World Heavyweight Title, Knocked Out by Daniel Dubois Anthony Joshua's bid to become a three-time world heavyweight champion was thwarted on Saturday night when he was knocked out by British rival Daniel Dubois in the fifth round. Dubois, who is 27 years old, retained his IBF heavyweight belt with a devastating overhand right to Joshua's chin 59 seconds into the fifth round in front of a record crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium in London. The upset comes as a shock, as Joshua had won his last four fights, including a spectacular second-round knockout of Francis Ngannou in March. However, Joshua entered the fight in good form, but Dubois's aggressive style and sharp punches caught him off guard. Joshua began the fight on the back foot, dropping by a right hand to the chin in the first round. He was also caught with a huge left hook in the third round, which left him on the ropes and sent him down for a second time. The fifth round saw Joshua attempt a comeback, but it was short-lived. Dubois knocked him down one last time, and despite Joshua's attempts to right himself, the fight was over. Dubois's victory is undoubtedly the greatest moment of his career so far, and it sets him up with a shot at fighting for the undisputed world heavyweight title following Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's rematch in December. Joshua, on the other hand, will look to bounce back with a rematch against Dubois, which his promoter Eddie Hearn expects him to exercise.
