Remote, a company that helps hire and manage contractors worldwide, is introducing a new way to pay. U. S. companies can now pay their contractors in stablecoins in 69 countries. The company has partnered with Stripe for this feature and is starting with USDC, a popular stablecoin managed by Circle. USDC is always worth one USD, so it's not affected by cryptocurrency price swings. For contractors, this means faster payments with no international transfer delays. USDC is sent on the Polygon Network, which many crypto wallets support. If you live in a country with money devaluation, holding USDC can boost your buying power. You can exchange some USDC for your local currency, transfer it to your bank, and keep the rest in your crypto wallet. Some people even use crypto exchange debit cards to easily spend USDC. When contractors sign up on Remote, they can choose to get paid in their local currency or in USDC. They just need to enter their wallet address and start uploading invoices. Companies approve invoices on Remote's dashboard, and Remote transfers the money automatically using the chosen payout method. In the future, Remote plans to expand this feature to companies based in other countries and add support for more cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
