Europe is trying to build a new fighter jet. It's called the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). Germany, France, and Spain are working together on this project. They plan to talk about it on December 11. The goal is to have this new jet ready by 2040. It will be worth 100 billion euros. That's a lot of money!
But there are problems. The companies involved can't agree on who does what. France's Dassault Aviation and Airbus are arguing. This is slowing things down. The project has been stuck for a while. Even the leaders of France and Germany talked about it last month. They wanted to make progress. But it's not easy.
This project is like another one called GCAP. The UK, Italy, and Japan are working on that. They want to have a fighter jet with drones by 2040 too. But can Europe make it happen? Time will tell.
