Northeast Ohio is buzzing with activities this week, from educational talks to live performances. On November 16, the Astronomy Club of Akron is hosting a talk by Robert Harmon from Ohio Wesleyan University. He will discuss solar physics and starspots, a great chance to learn about the sun and other stars.
Music lovers have plenty to choose from. Warren Miller's "SNO-CIETY" is showing at the Akron Civic Theatre. Over in Youngstown, The Tamburitzans are performing at the DeYor Performing Arts Center. In Cleveland, Justin Adams and Mauro Durante are playing at the Music Box Supper Club. The Unity Project is also performing at the Bop Stop.
Comedy fans can catch Shaun Cassidy at the Goodyear Theater and The Brit Pack at Kent Stage. Later that night, Room 112 will perform at the Akron Civic Theatre. On November 18, The English Beat and Outlab will perform at Kent Stage and Bop Stop, respectively.
For those interested in history, the Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve are hosting an event with Cleveland State University archaeologist Phil Wanyerka. He will share findings from the preserve.
The week continues with more music and comedy. Scott Seiss and Brent Kirby are performing at Hilarities and Bop Stop on November 19. Josh Blue will perform multiple shows at Hilarities from November 20 to 22. Mike Polk's Twisted Takes on the Holidays and Steve Martin and Martin Short are also performing.
The Cleveland Orchestra is presenting Dvorak's New World Symphony at Severance Hall. Shovels & Rope and Anne Wilson are performing at the Music Box Supper Club and Akron Civic Theatre. The University of Akron Dance Company is also performing.
On November 21, there are even more performances, including Jeff Horste, Mike Albert and the Big E Band, and Magic Dick of The J. Geils Band. A New Adventure Widows & Widowers is meeting for breakfast on November 22.
The week wraps up with more music and performances. Daybreak! The Music and Passion of Barry Manilow is at the Music Box Supper Club. Video Game Symphony with 88bit and Burlesco are performing at the Akron Civic Theatre. Bethany Joy is releasing her new album at Bop Stop.
For those looking for a unique experience, the Eagles Tribute Brunch with Out of Eden and Blues Brunch with Travis Haddix Blues Band are happening on November 23. Singers Companye Chamber Choir is performing at The Bath Church.
The week ends with performances by Steve-O, Adam Hawley, Scott Gillespie, Brett Dennen, and Trey Anastasio. New events for December include A Magical Motown Christmas, Storm Large, Kenny G, and A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage.
