Genspark's Subway Blitz Meets Protest
Founded in 2023, Genspark builds an AI assistant that combines features from models such as ChatGPT and Claude. The company has placed its ads on many subway cars in New York. The advertisements cover thirteen lines, reaching roughly half of the city's trains.
During the first week of the campaign, new signups in New York increased by fifty percent. The startup's rapid growth follows the launch of its AI agent, which is designed to simplify work tasks. By integrating several mainstream AI models, the product provides a single interface for users.
Jennifer Lin, the head of marketing, pointed out that the subway offers a setting where riders are not distracted by other screens. Victoria Mottesheard from Outfront reported that tech firms accounted for ten percent of ad sales last year. This campaign is part of a wider trend of technology companies investing in transit advertising.
Some passengers have changed the slogans to voice worry that AI might replace jobs. One original phrase was altered to read 'One prompt, job lost'. Genspark's team stated they take the concern seriously and aim to make AI useful for everyone.
