Green Logistics Boosts Guangdong’s Sustainable Growth and Spreads Benefits Nearby

Green logistics has become a vital tool for low‑carbon change and regional sustainability. Researchers wanted to know how this sector shapes sustainable development across Guangdong. They collected data from 21 prefecture‑level cities over ten years, from 2013 to 2023. An entropy weight method helped build composite indexes for both green logistics and sustainability. Benchmark regression and a Spatial Durbin Model were used to trace cause‑and‑effect and spatial ties.

The numbers told a clear story. Green logistics lifted local sustainable development and sent positive spillovers to nearby areas. A spatial diffusion pattern emerged, centered on Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Further tests showed that western, northern and eastern Guangdong enjoyed bigger marginal gains than the Pearl River Delta. This points to the importance of tailoring policies to each region’s unique conditions.

The study suggests three practical steps. First, expand green logistics infrastructure to connect more cities. Second, harness spatial externalities so benefits spread further. Third, design differentiated policies that match local needs. By blending spatial econometrics with environmental analysis, the research adds fresh evidence that logistics systems can drive sustainability in rapidly developing economies.
