The wind is expected to be quite strong today, with gusts reaching 40-50 mph from the west. This could lead to unexpected damage, fallen branches, or power outages, making the night feel even spookier. Areas with higher terrain and coastal communities will experience the strongest winds, both today and tonight. Many regions will continue to feel gusts of 30-40 mph until Saturday morning. Over 20, 000 people were already without power on Friday morning due to the strong winds. Wind advisories are in effect this afternoon and will continue until Saturday morning. The good news is that southern New England will stay dry as the low-pressure system moves away. Trick-or-treaters can expect partly cloudy skies with a small chance of a light sprinkle. Dressing warmly is a must, as the wind will make it feel much colder than it actually is. Temperatures will be in the 40s, and overnight lows will drop to the 30s. Don't forget to bundle up with extra layers, a coat, hat, and gloves to stay comfortable. As November begins, the weather will bring a breeze and clear skies, with patchy frost in low-lying areas sheltered from the wind. Highs will reach the mid-50s with sunshine, and the wind will calm down a bit by sunset. It's also time to "fall back" and set the clocks back an hour before bedtime. On Sunday, the sun will rise around 6:30 am and set around 4:30 pm as Daylight Saving Time ends. Next week, a few quick low-pressure systems will pass through. One is expected around Monday night, another on Thursday, and possibly one more next weekend. Stay tuned, as these systems could change in timing. Temperatures will range from the 50s to the 40s for highs over the next 10 days.
