Hell’s BBQ Finds New Home in Downtown Oswego

Hell’s BBQ is packing up and heading to a new spot in Oswego. The restaurant will move into 228 East Washington Street, the place that used to hold Danelli’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. This shift comes after the original shop on Station Drive closed its doors in July.

Owner Keith Richards shared the news on the restaurant’s Facebook page. He said they really did not want to leave the town. Finding a space in a lively part of downtown made the move possible. Richards added that the team feels proud to keep their story going in Oswego and looks forward to becoming part of the local community.

The old location at 1019 Station Drive in the Oswego Junction shopping center opened in November 2022. Before that, Richards started Hell’s BBQ as a catering venture back in 2014. The food truck still roams around, parked at 111 South Lake Street in Montgomery, right across from Schaefer’s Greenhouse.

Danelli’s shut down in December 2024 after the owners decided to retire. That spot had been serving pizza and pasta since 1985, and before that it was a smaller shop near the Fox River. When you visit Hell’s BBQ, try the rib tips, the brisket egg rolls, or a slice of cornbread.
