Hill Returns to Bengals Camp, Ready to Lead Defensive Line
Cincinnati, Ohio, USAMon Aug 17 2026
B.J. Hill stepped onto the Bengals practice field on Saturday after being cleared from the physically unable to perform list. He told reporters he feels good and is taking each moment one second at a time. The veteran defensive tackle said he will let his body guide him and stay focused on the present.
Head coach Zac Taylor highlighted Hill's comeback before the session. Taylor noted that Hill brings years of experience and leadership to a defensive line that is nearing full health. He also mentioned a brief scare when teammate Myles Murphy left practice on a cart for an IV due to cramping, but clarified that the situation was under control.
Hill was the team's top defensive tackle in the 2025 season, recording 66 tackles, 13 quarterback pressures and five tackles for loss, earning a 68.6 grade from Pro Football Focus. His former Giants teammate Dexter Lawrence expressed excitement about reuniting on the same front, hoping they can disrupt opposing offensive lines together. The Bengals plan another morning practice on Sunday before an off day, keeping the momentum going for the upcoming week.
