Host Faints on Live TV, Ends Up with Stitches
Boston, Massachusetts, USASun Aug 30 2026
During a live broadcast on Friday, host Michael Holley suddenly fainted. The show, called PFT Live, was on the air at 7 AM Eastern. It airs on Peacock, NBCSN and SiriusXM. Holley began to sway, then he leaned back and fell out of the frame. A thud was heard as he hit the floor. The program has been on the air for fifteen years.
Holley had not eaten or drunk anything before the early show. His home studio was very warm, and he became overheated. He was taken to a hospital and received five stitches in his knee from the fall. NBC Sports posted a statement saying he was fine except for the cut. This was the first time such an event occurred on the program.
Co‑host Mike Florio saw the fall and called for a break. He later wrote that the control room lacked emergency contact information for the hosts. The network announced it will now keep such details ready for all co‑hosts. The episode was not replayed, and clips were removed from social media. Florio recalled a similar moment from two years earlier when he thought he might be having a heart attack. The event reminds viewers that even experienced hosts can face sudden health issues.
