In India, health officials have found a small number of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases. This isn't a new virus, unlike COVID-19 that keeps changing. So far, seven cases have been reported across the country, with two new ones in Nagpur. Before that, cases were found in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Salem. Most cases involve young children. The Indian government has asked states to keep an eye on respiratory illnesses and teach people how to prevent HMPV. The virus can be serious for young kids, older people, and those with weak immune systems. To prevent HMPV, cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough, wash your hands often, and wear a mask. The Indian Health Ministry says there's no need to worry as most people get better on their own. The World Health Organization and other health agencies aren't concerned about this virus. In China, HMPV cases are rising, but experts don't think it will cause a global pandemic. Health experts say HMPV has been around for a while, so people have some immunity. The Indian government is watching the situation in China and other neighboring countries.
