Instagram Celebrities and Violence Against Women: A Closer Look

Researchers took a good, hard look at what 145 famous Instagrammers had to say about this topic. They checked out 74 posts - pictures, videos, and designs - to see how these stars handled the subject. The study found that celebrities aren't trying to glorify violence by sharing these posts. Instead, it's a way to show they care about what's happening and to raise awareness. Female celebrities, in particular, seemed more sensitive to the issue and talked about it more. The posts often highlighted the gender aspect of the violence. So, what does this tell us? Celebrities might be using their influence to make a difference, but we should also think about how they choose to do that.
