Harvin Singh Sandhu, a local entrepreneur, has big plans for the six-story building he recently acquired with his family. The event space, which can hold up to 350 people, is kicking off its reopening with a Halloween bash. Teaming up with The XPerience, Sandhu is hosting a costume party complete with live music and a speakeasy. Tickets are on sale now, with options for general admission or all-access passes. But this is just the beginning. Sandhu envisions the space as a hub for all sorts of events, from weddings to comedy nights. He's aiming to keep the energy going year-round, even when the weather turns cold. The building itself has a rich history. It once housed the Gilmore Brothers department store and now includes retail, offices, and apartments. With tenants like Rocket Fizz and The XPerience already on board, and more on the way, the City Centre is poised to become a vibrant part of the community once again. Sandhu's family has deep roots in Kalamazoo, having moved here from India in 2003. They've been involved in local businesses for years, and now they're adding this event space to their portfolio.
