In Tuscola County, Michigan, authorities are taking a serious stand against a recent threat made by students. The Kingston Community Schools district will see more police around campus as a result. This comes after the FBI noticed a concerning message shared on social media. The students involved have already been taken out of the school setting. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, Michigan State Police, Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department, and Kingston Village Police, are looking into the situation. Officials want everyone to know that threats, whether real or just a joke, are not okay. Superintendent Shona Vennevy mentioned the threat was posted on Snapchat. Chief Albert Pearsall warned that such actions can cause fear and trouble in schools. He also reminded everyone that threats can lead to serious legal and school-related punishments. If anyone sees or hears about threats or strange behavior, they can tell the school resource officer or use the OK2SAY program. The case will soon be handed over to the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office. They will decide if any charges should be filed.
