Actors Theatre of Little Rock is shaking things up with an "immersive" take on "Hairspray. " This isn't your average play. The action happens all around the audience, making it a unique experience. The story follows Tracy Turnblad, a plus-sized teen from the 1960s, who lands a spot on a TV dance show and uses her newfound fame to fight for what's right. Performances are happening on select dates in December at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church. Tickets are affordable, with discounts for students and seniors. Music lovers have a lot to look forward to this December. The Vienna Light Orchestra is bringing its Christmas Tour 2025 to Little Rock, featuring sopranos from around the world. They'll be singing classic holiday tunes like "White Christmas" and "O Holy Night. " Meanwhile, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas is putting on two holiday shows. One is a traditional Christmas concert with special guests, and the other is a family-friendly performance of "The Snowman" set to the animated film. Both shows are happening at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. Arkansas PBS is back with a new season of "Arkansas Treasures. " This show features experts evaluating all sorts of items, from old guitars to signed baseballs. The new season includes some fascinating finds, like a 1948 Martin acoustic guitar and an antique American flag. The show is hosted by Craig O'Neill and features a team of appraisers, including experts from Arkansas. New episodes start airing on Monday, and the first season and part of the second season are already available on demand.
