Fox News has decided to end its long working relationship with Maria Bartiromo. The news came out on Thursday, right after she finished hosting "Mornings With Maria," her weekday show.

The network did not share any clear reason for letting her go. A short statement from Fox said, "We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years" and wished her well in whatever she does next. That was the only explanation given to the public.

Big changes are coming to her time slots. Her morning program will be replaced by a new show called "Mornings with FOX Business," which will feature different hosts taking turns. Her Friday evening segment, "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street," will now simply be called "FBN's Wall Street." Jason Chaffetz is expected to step in for "Sunday Morning Futures" this weekend after her exit.

Bartiromo stayed quiet after the announcement. She did not post anything about the decision on her social media pages. Her silence left fans and coworkers guessing about what she might be feeling.

Earlier in her career, Bartiromo found herself caught up in a major legal fight. Dominion Voting Systems sued the network over claims made by Fox personalities and guests after the 2020 presidential election. Dominion said Fox kept airing stories that the voting company helped "rig" the election for Joe Biden, even when proof showed those stories were false. Fox eventually paid $787.5 million to settle the case, according to reports from the Associated Press. That whole ordeal put a heavy spotlight on how news gets shared and who ends up paying the cost.
