Brandon Scott Poulos, a 46-year-old man, is at the center of a shocking event that unfolded in San Antonio. Last Wednesday night, seven San Antonio Police Department officers were injured in a shooting at an apartment complex in Stone Oak. Poulos, identified by the police, has a history that sheds light on this tragic incident. Back in January, court records reveal Poulos was arrested following an assault that took place on January 18. He was alleged to have been intoxicated and got into a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The incident involved an 81-year-old woman, an 83-year-old man, and a 44-year-old woman who tried to intervene. Poulos pushed the elderly woman to the ground, causing her to hit her head. He also reportedly dragged the 44-year-old woman by her hair and struck the 83-year-old man multiple times. Despite being charged with assault and driving while intoxicated, Poulos was released on bond the next day. However, he was ordered by a judge not to possess or use firearms. This restriction did not prevent the events that unfolded last Wednesday. The shooting began as a call for a potential suicide in progress. As officers arrived at the scene, they were met with gunfire. The first four officers were shot, and later, three more were struck. All seven officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Poulos had an active warrant from Comal County for violating bond conditions and a protective order.
