In Lebanon, many families forced to move due to conflict face serious mental health issues. A recent study looked at the mental state of 400 displaced people. It found that a big number of them, 64. 8%, showed signs of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This is a very high number. The study also found that many of these people struggle with depression and anxiety. Over half of them, 57. 5%, showed signs of depression, and 57% showed signs of anxiety. The study also looked at what makes people more likely to have PTSD. It found that people who struggle with depression and anxiety are more likely to have PTSD. People who don't have enough food are also more likely to have PTSD. This is a big problem because many displaced people in Lebanon don't have enough food. The study also found that people who didn't finish much school are more likely to have PTSD. But the study also found some things that can help protect people from PTSD. People who are resilient, or able to bounce back from hard times, are less likely to have PTSD. Also, people who get help from a mental health professional are less likely to have PTSD. But the study found that not many people are getting this help. Only 28. 3% of the people in the study had gotten help from a mental health professional. The study shows that displaced people in Lebanon need more help with their mental health. They need access to food, education, and mental health services. The study also shows that resilience can help protect people from PTSD. This is important because it means that helping people build resilience can be a part of the solution.
