Michigan's football team ended their season on a high note, beating Alabama 19-13 in the ReliaQuest Bowl. The Wolverines' defense was the star of the show, sacking Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe five times and forcing him to turn over the ball three times. This victory was a big deal for Michigan, who had a new coach this year, Sherrone Moore. Moore took over from Jim Harbaugh, who left for the NFL. Moore said the win was a team effort and showed that Michigan has a bright future.
The game wasn't easy for Alabama. Milroe had a tough start, with two fumbles and an interception in the first quarter. Michigan's Jordan Marshall also had a great game, rushing for 100 yards. This win was Michigan's third in a row, including big upsets over rivals Ohio State and Alabama.
Alabama's coach, Kalen DeBoer, was disappointed but saw the loss as a learning experience. The Crimson Tide had a streak of 16 seasons with at least 10 wins, but that ended with this loss. DeBoer hopes to learn from this season and come back stronger next year.
