Michigan is in for a weather rollercoaster. Expect ups and downs, with warm days and chilly nights. Right now, the southeast part of the state, like Detroit, is getting wet. Rain is moving in from the southeast, but places like Ann Arbor are staying dry for now. This storm will move out by evening, bringing colder air with it. Up north, in the Upper Peninsula, the first snow of the season is on its way. This is typical for Halloween time. As the storm leaves, winds will pick up from the northwest, bringing lake effect snow. It won't be a lot, but some higher areas might see a couple of inches. Don't expect a big snowstorm, though. Most of it will likely melt. This weekend, Michigan will be split in two. The east side will stay mostly dry on Friday, while the west side might see some light showers. Saturday will bring brief showers across the state, with a chance of wet snow in the northern parts. Sunday will be dry until nighttime, when a cold front might bring some rain. Temperatures will vary. The south will be in the low 50s, while the north and Upper Peninsula will be in the 40s. Next week, things will warm up. Monday through Wednesday should be dry, with temperatures climbing from the mid-50s to near 60° by Wednesday. This is typical for November, with temperatures rising before a storm and falling after. Looking ahead, Michigan will see more ups and downs. After a warm-up, temperatures will drop again, then possibly rise once more. Mornings will be chilly, requiring coats, while afternoons will need a good jacket. This is all part of the transition to winter, with more snow expected in southern Canada.
