Hammond, Louisiana, USAMon Jun 15 2026
Michael Eble has stepped into the role of head of visual arts and design at Southeast Louisiana University. Before this, he was assistant dean for the College of Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he managed collegewide communication and ran the Fletcher Hall Gallery. Eble also taught studio art courses and helped freshmen adjust to college life. He earned a BFA in painting from UL and an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Mississippi. Eble is a practicing artist who has shown his work across the U. S. , including solo shows at the Hillard Art Museum, Acadiana Center for the Arts and Cole Pratt Gallery.
The university praised his blend of teaching, gallery work and administrative skill. They expect him to bring fresh ideas that will help students and faculty flourish. Eble’s long tenure in the UL system gives him insight into state educational goals, which should help him start making an impact quickly. Before UL, he spent over a decade at the University of Minnesota Morris, leading the studio art department and curating exhibitions there.
