Apple has rolled out its latest software, iOS 26, and not every iPhone will get it. If you have an iPhone from 2018 or earlier, you're out of luck. That means the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max are left behind. But don't worry, there's still iOS 18. 7 for security updates.
If you have an iPhone from 2019 or later, you're good to go. That includes all iPhone 11 models and up, plus the iPhone SE (second generation and later). The same goes for iPads. The new iPad Pro, iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (8th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later) can all run iPadOS 26.
So, what's new in iOS 26? There's a fresh look called Liquid Glass, a redesigned Phone app, and a feature called Live Translate for real-time translation. You can also create polls in group messages and customize your lock screen more. The Camera app is simpler to use, and you can adjust your snooze time on alarms.
But if you're sticking with an older iPhone, keep in mind that you'll miss out on these features and eventually, security updates. That could leave your phone vulnerable to threats. So, it's something to think about.
