Oklahoma State University (OSU) has been shaking things up in the wrestling world. They've hired Olympic champion David Taylor as their new head coach, with a massive contract worth $6 million over six years. But OSU isn't just investing in coaching. They're also diving into the entertainment industry during the 2024-25 NCAA season. They're producing a three-part web series called "TRADITION CONTINUES: A New Era for Cowboy Wrestling. " This series will showcase the changes happening in the Cowboys' wrestling program since Taylor's arrival. It'll feature the new head coach's vision, the wrestlers' training routines, and the mindset they bring to the mat. The series will be exclusive to OSU Max, the official streaming home of Oklahoma State Athletics. The first part aired on November 21, with the next two parts set for December 5 and December 19.
OSU has been making bold moves since the start of the year. They've overhauled their coaching staff, bringing in Taylor to replace long-term coach John Smith, who retired in April. Smith's legacy, including five national team titles, will also be featured in the web series. The Cowboys have started the season strong, with a dominant performance against Utah Valley. Their next match is at home against Wyoming. This match could be a big deal for high school wrestling star Bo Bassett, who's on a 74-win streak and might meet Taylor. OSU already has two future stars lined up for their 2026 roster, but there's always room for more talent.
