Pennsylvania is making a big deal out of HBO's crime drama "Task. " The state just gave the show a huge tax credit of $49. 8 million. This is the biggest tax credit Pennsylvania has ever given to a single production. The show's star, Mark Ruffalo, will be back for the second season. This investment is expected to create around 3, 700 jobs. HBO plans to spend $194. 1 million in the state. This includes hiring local crews and paying for hotels. The first season of "Task" already brought in $230 million to the region. It hired 777 locals for 177 days of filming. The show's creator, Brad Ingelsby, is from Berwyn. He is known for bringing Philadelphia crime stories to TV. The tax credit is part of Governor Josh Shapiro's plan to attract more TV and film productions to Pennsylvania. The state's film commissioner, Gino Anthony Pesi, is proud of this. He says it supports local jobs and businesses. Ingelsby believes filming in Pennsylvania adds authenticity to the show. He thinks it brings something special to the story and characters. HBO's executive vice president, Janet Graham Borba, agrees. She says the locations in and around Philadelphia add a lot to the series. Filming in Pennsylvania also gives jobs to locals and helps businesses. The cast of "Task" also benefited from filming in Pennsylvania. Some actors, like Emilia Jones, bonded with the crew. They even helped the actors learn the tricky Delco accent.
