Bolton is not optimistic about Trump imposing sanctions on Russia and thinks Trump might lose interest in the matter. Meanwhile, Bolton criticized Trump's tariff strategy, saying it has pushed India's prime minister, Narendra Modi, closer to Russia and China. He tweeted that the White House has set back U. S. -India relations by decades. Bolton also expressed doubt about Trump's promise to end the war in Ukraine quickly, stating that it was never a realistic goal. In other news, Bolton's own home was raided by FBI agents in August as part of a classified-records probe. Despite this, Bolton hopes that Washington will continue to support Ukraine, even if it's indirectly through Europe.
