Renting a dorm for World Cup 2026? Here’s what to expect at Georgia Tech

Atlanta, Georgia, USAThu Apr 23 2026
Georgia Tech is turning student housing into a temporary home for World Cup visitors this summer. Instead of booking a hotel, soccer fans can rent a single room in a shared apartment near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The program, called Soccer Stays GT Summer Lodging, opens dorm-style living to the public from June 1 to July 31. Each booked room includes a twin XL bed, desk, dresser, and shared spaces like a kitchen and bathroom. Linens are provided, but detergent isn’t. Laundry machines are free, though guests must bring their own soap. The dorms are about 1. 8 miles from the stadium—close enough for a short walk or quick ride, but not so close that fans will feel stuck in a tourist bubble.
Prices start at $237 per night with breakfast included. Longer stays (over 14 nights) get a discount, and university affiliates pay less. Parking and dining credits can be added, but the real draw is the chance to experience college life—even if just for a few weeks. The setup isn’t glamorous, but it’s practical for budget-conscious travelers who don’t mind sharing space. Atlanta will host eight matches, including a semifinal, giving fans plenty to cheer for. Teams like Spain, with rising star Lamine Yamal, could draw big crowds. The dorms might not have room service, but they offer a local’s perspective on the city—something generic hotels can’t match.
