Sargent High School Volleyball Team Secures Another League Title

Sargent High School's volleyball team has done it again! They won their third league title in a row. This time, they beat Sangre de Cristo in three sets. The scores were 25-12, 25-16, and 25-16. It was a strong performance by the Farmers, who showed their skill and teamwork. The Farmers started the first set with a bang, scoring the first three points. But Sangre de Cristo didn't give up easily. They tied the score at 3-3. Then, Sargent went on a roll, scoring six straight points to take a 9-3 lead. The Farmers kept their momentum, and despite Sangre's efforts to catch up, Sargent won the first set 25-12. In the second set, Sangre started strong, scoring the first two points. But Sargent quickly took the lead and never looked back. They had several runs of consecutive points, showing their dominance on the court. The Farmers won the second set 25-16. The third set was more of the same. Sargent started with a 5-1 lead and kept extending it. Sangre tried to come back, but the Farmers' lead was too much to overcome. Sargent won the final set 25-16, securing their third straight league title. Reese Anderson was a standout player for Sargent, with 26 assists. Kandace Pargin led the hitting game with 21 kills. The Farmers also had a strong serving game, with 13 aces. Sangre de Cristo's Desarey Ojeda had six assists, and Taylor Freel had three kills. Sargent's next game is against Trinidad on October 23. Coach Amber Mortensen reminded the team that they can't underestimate any opponent. Sangre de Cristo will travel to Cotopaxi for their next match. Coach Chad Skinner believes his team has the potential to win.
