Shooting at Santa Monica College: Tragedy in the Neighborhood

A tragic event unfolded at Santa Monica College when an employee was critically injured in a shooting. This incident happened late Monday evening at the Center for Media and Design campus on Stewart Street. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. The college's chief of police, Johnnie Adams, confirmed that the shooting was not a random act but rather a case of workplace violence. Meanwhile, a standoff occurred in Hawthorne on Tuesday. Police surrounded a car facing the wrong way on Aviation Boulevard. A deceased person was found in the driver's seat.
