Sony Announces the Exit of Long‑Serving Communications Leader

Culver City, USASat May 16 2026
Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that Stacy Weitz will leave her position as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at the end of this month, after ten years with the studio. Weitz began her career at Sony in 2016 as Vice President of Corporate Communications and was promoted to Senior Vice President two years later. In 2024, her responsibilities were shifted toward international production, global distribution and the game‑show division following a new hire for overall corporate communications. Her time at Sony has been marked by steady, principled leadership that many colleagues have praised for its integrity and warmth. She has guided the studio’s messaging during major milestones, such as the launch of popular franchises like “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy! ”, and has overseen communications for key deals, including the acquisition of Industrial Media and the integration of Crunchyroll.
Before joining Sony, Weitz held senior communications roles at PMK BNC and earlier worked for UTA, Bender/Helper Impact, and Jane Ayer PR. The studio thanked her for the lasting impact she has made on Sony’s global television operations and expressed that her partnership will be deeply missed. Weitz’s departure comes as Sony continues to adapt its corporate structure and focus on expanding its international footprint. The company has stated that it will appoint a new leader for corporate communications in the coming weeks, ensuring continuity as it navigates future growth opportunities.
