In Boyertown, a sweet event turned into a big win for a local food pantry. The Cocoa, Coffee & Cookie Crawl, held last November, brought together the community to support Preston’s Pantry. This was not just about tasty treats; it was about giving back. Two groups, Berks-Mont Business Association and Building a Better Boyertown, teamed up to make this happen. They raised over $3, 000 for Preston’s Pantry, which helps people in need. The event was part of Small Business Saturday, a day to support local shops. It was a hit, with around 300 people joining in. Participants got to visit 25 local businesses and enjoy samples of cocoa, coffee, and cookies. Some businesses even teamed up to make the event better. It was a fun way to explore the town and support a good cause. Kids had their own fun with a scavenger hunt. They looked for hidden piggy banks and answered clues. Everyone who finished got to take home a piggy bank. This added a playful touch to the event. The community’s support was amazing. People walked around, enjoyed the treats, and helped those in need. It showed how a small town can come together for a big cause. This was the first time these groups worked together for Small Business Saturday. The success of the event proves that when people unite, great things happen. It was a sweet day for Boyertown, and the impact will last much longer.
