The Tech Leader Bringing New Mexico’s Innovators Together

Beverlie Frazier didn’t plan to become the face of New Mexico’s tech scene, but life had other plans. After losing her sales job in a company merger, she was told to create her own opportunity—leading a multimedia project that highlighted the state’s economic trailblazers. Now, she’s stepping into an even bigger role as the new leader of the organization that connects the state’s tech world. The group she now leads, the New Mexico Technology Council, isn’t just a small club—it’s a network of over 145 organizations representing around 1, 000 professionals. It puts on the biggest tech gathering in the state every year and runs long-standing programs like the Women in Tech Awards. While most tech activity happens in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos, Frazier wants to change that by bringing new voices into the conversation.Growing up in Old Town Albuquerque, Frazier has always believed in giving back. Before taking this role, she helped guide cultural groups like the National Institute of Flamenco and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Her work with these organizations isn’t just about duty—it’s about paying forward the support she’s received throughout her career. AI data centers are a hot topic in New Mexico, with debates over their benefits and risks. Frazier admits she doesn’t have all the answers yet but sees her job as bringing people together to discuss the issue openly.
